First conceived in 2014, HackTheBurgh is an annual student-led hackathon run by CompSoc, the University of Edinburgh’s technology society.

HackTheBurgh brings together the best upcoming talent across the country for 24 hours to collaborate on challenges, learn new skills and network with some of the best employers in the technology industry.

FAQs

Who can attend HackTheBurgh?

To be eligible to participate, you only have to be a current student from any university, or have graduated within a year! We encourage anyone from any degree discipline, technical or not, to enjoy HackTheBurgh and show off your skills throughout the weekend. Unfortunately, due to logistical and legal constraints, we are unable to host under 18s.

Do I need to pay to attend HackTheBurgh?

No. HackTheBurgh is free to attend.

Where is HackTheBurgh?
Does HackTheBurgh offer travel reimbursements?

We have generous travel reimbursements for everyone travelling to Edinburgh. More information to come.
